About Pictura

Good Things Happen Here

Pictura Chester is a creative café and studio tucked away on Eastgate Row, in the heart of Chester city centre – a place where people of all ages can relax, get creative and make lasting memories.

A creative space with heart

Pictura is proudly independent and family run, created to bring people together through creativity, great food and unforgettable experiences. Every visit is designed to feel warm, welcoming and genuinely personal.

Whether you’re painting pottery, creating a canvas, designing a mosaic or enjoying one of our adult BYOB evenings, there’s something for everyone. No experience is needed – just choose your activity, grab a drink and enjoy.

We’re also home to children’s birthday parties, family days out, seasonal events, keepsake experiences, corporate team-building, workshops and private celebrations.

Create. Relax. Make memories.

We believe creativity brings people together. Whether you’re planning a family day out, catching up with friends, celebrating a birthday or simply looking for something different to do in Chester, we’ve created a place where everyone can slow down, get creative and make memories they’ll treasure.

Pictura Chester is owned and run by Pictura Studios Ltd.

Our story

Pictura started with Kate, our founder and owner. She’s a qualified art teacher, and she taught in schools until she decided she wanted to teach art her own way. She leads our resin workshops.

So we started The Art School in our garage. Within a year we’d moved into a studio in New Ferry, and from there we moved to Chester.

The creative café began as a way to fill the quiet times between classes. People came in to paint and have a coffee, and it grew from there.

We’re still independent and family run. If you’re on Eastgate Row, come in and say hello to our friendly team.
